Douthit Funeral Services was established on August 13, 2000 through a vision, when God spoke to Thomie Douthit instructing him to start a funeral service that would be innovative and new by offering a service of in home arrangements, where families could make arrangements in a familiar environment.

At our inception, there was no physical address, no vehicles, and no chapel — only faith, vision, and a calling to serve. Trusting in God’s direction, we stepped forward, and the journey began. From humble beginnings in a small office at 404 Northgate Park Drive, to utilizing a church sanctuary on Greenway Avenue and later a visitation center on North Cherry Street, each step has been guided by dedication, perseverance, and a deep commitment to the families we serve. Through the years, God has continued to bless and expand the vision, allowing us to grow while never losing sight of what matters most — serving families with compassion, dignity, and excellence.

Today, Douthit Funeral Services is honored to serve the community from our current location at 515 Specialty Park Drive in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Our 4,810-square-foot facility is thoughtfully designed to provide comfort, peace, and support during life’s most difficult moments, featuring two walk-through visitation rooms, a chapel with seating for 95 guests, and a warm, welcoming environment for families and their loved ones. For over two decades, we have remained committed to serving with the highest level of care, built on a foundation of faith, trust, and compassion. We continue to uphold the values that have guided us from the beginning — ensuring every family receives personalized, dignified service. “Our Family Serving Your Family Since 2000"
